Herbal Medicine

Herbal formulas, created from plants, seeds, shells, and other natural elements are the cornerstone of East Asian medicine.  The formulas are made from herbs that are ethically grown and processed by reputable companies in China, Taiwan and the United States that guarantee safe production methods and high quality control.

I appreciate the herbal medicine tradition because it is full of formulas that address the root cause of health problems.  When prescribed by an experienced, skilled practitioner trained in the methods of Chinese Medical diagnosis and treatment, herbal medicines represent the most effective means for restoring health and helping you reach your treatment goals.

Over centuries of use, Chinese herbal formulas have been prescribed successfully to eliminate menstrual pain, promote ovulation, improve egg quality, promote the growth of a healthy uterine lining, produce high quality sperm, nourish waning libido, relieve hot flashes and vaginal dryness associated with the onset of menopause, support early conception and prevent miscarriage, promote healthy sleep, settle mood swings, and ease feelings of stress and anxiety.

The formulas are administered in a variety of forms --- capsules, tablets, powders that are dissolved in water, liquid extracts or drops that have a long shelf life and are preserved with alcohol, and as dried plants that are soaked and boiled into a liquid tea.

If you are working with a fertility clinic and taking hormonal medications, I do not recommend using herbs, as we do not know enough about how the two substances interact.  But herbal medicines are excellent components of pre-conception care, and help prepare you for ART treatment success.
